A shell-and-tube heat exchanger mainly consists of four parts: the shell, tube bundle, tube sheet, and end caps. Shell: An outer cylindrical body that provides protection and housing for the tube bundle, through which one type of fluid (such as a hot or cold fluid) flows. Tube bundle: The core component, consisting of multiple heat transfer tubes arranged in a specific pattern (such as equilateral triangles or squares) and fixed to the tube sheet, forming the heat transfer surface. Another fluid flows inside the tubes, exchanging heat with the fluid inside the shell. Tube sheet: Located at both ends of the shell, used to fix the heat transfer tubes and separate the tube-side and shell-side fluids, ensuring that the two fluids do not mix. End caps: Installed at both ends of the shell, equipped with fluid inlets and outlets, connected to external pipes via connecting pipes to realize the entry, exit, and distribution of fluid.
